When it comes to starting solids with your little one, there are so many options and approaches. One approach that has been gaining popularity in recent years is baby led weaning, which involves letting your baby feed themselves with finger foods right from the start, as opposed to purees and spoon feeding. If you choose to go this route, it's important to have the right equipment to ensure your baby's safety and comfort while they explore their food. And a good high chair is key! In this post, I'll be sharing my top picks for the best high chairs for baby led weaning.

But before we get into that, here are 2 things to look for in a high chair:
It needs to have an adjustable footrest (or one that can be added to it)
Baby needs to sit in the high chair so that their waist, knees and feet are at a 90 degree angle. This can be achieved by having an adjustable set or adding a cushion.
Alright, now to the highchairs:
IKEA Antilop High Chair** - This cheap and cheerful option is a favorite amongst baby led weaning parents. At around $20, it won't break the bank, and its lightweight, simple design makes it easy to clean and move around. Plus, with the removable tray, you can pull it right up to the table and have your baby join in on family meals. With the Antilop high chair, you'll need to purchase a cushion either from Ikea or somewhere else and you'll also need to purchase an adjustable foot rest. (I'll do a separate post about my favorite IKEA Antilop Accessories)
Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair* - This high chair is an investment, but many parents swear by it. Its adjustable seat and footrest mean that it can grow with your child from infancy to adulthood, and its sleek design looks modern and stylish in any home. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors and finishes to fit any decor.
Nomi High Chair*- This versatile chair is designed to grow with your little one. Its sleek Scandinavian design is not only stylish, but also functional - the chair's easily adjustable seat and footrest provide optimal support for your baby as they begin their journey into the world of solid foods. Plus, the Nomi's easy-to-clean surfaces make mealtime cleanup a breeze.
No matter which high chair you choose, make sure it meets current safety standards and is appropriate for your baby's age and size. You may also want to consider other features, such as portability, ease of cleaning, and adjustable settings. With the right high chair, mealtime with your baby can be a fun and stress-free experience, and baby led weaning can be a great way for your little one to explore new tastes and textures.
